Acclaimed art historian Francesco da Mosto sets off aboard antique ship The Black Swan to sail from Venice to Istanbul. His mission: to see the great sites of the Mediterranean and to discover what is left of Venice’s once vast empire.

Throughout the series Francesco visits the great cities, fortresses, churches, palaces and peoples that line the shores of the Eastern Mediterranean once under Venetian control; The coast of the Adriatic, curve through the Corinth Canal between Athens and the Peloponnese, then cross the Aegean and the reek islands sailing into the Sea of Marmara for a final dash to Istanbul.

Packed with great art and architecture as well as the thrill of life at sea this spectacular series takes in some of mankind’s greatest achievements.
